Tulips Blue beat Boltz Red for second straight win in Boston Netball League

TULIPS BLUE 36, BOSTON BOLTZ RED 20

Tulips Blue followed up their win over Donington side Flinders Flyers with success against Boston Boltz Red.

The first half was a very even game, with both teams competing well.

However, Tulips were making some basic errors by bunching in the mid-court and playing too quickly.

Despite this, Tulips led at half-time 15-10 and the team stepped back onto court for the second half knowing where improvements needed to be made.

The defensive duo of Ellie-Mae Stokes and Amy Bramma applied the pressure in the circle which forced Boltz Red into making mistakes.

Tulips took their chances and capitalised, transitioning down the court with Georgia McWilliam, Mel Johnson and Hayley Jane Stevens linking up nicely.

As the final quarter arrived, Tulips were playing with confidence and saw some beautiful circle feeds from Hayley Stevens and Mel Johnson.

Meanwhile, Lucy Boyce and Millie Weller formed a fine partnership in the shooting circle, putting the ball up with ease to secure the win and five valuable points.

Weller was voted players' player of the match, while Stevens won the umpire's player vote.

Next up for Tulips Blue is a meeting with league leaders Baby Boltz, the first of five fixtures left in Boston Netball League's winter season.
