Pinchbeck United draw with Diss Town in the Thurlow Nunn League
Pinchbeck picked up a decent point after sharing the spoils with play-off chasing Diss Town at the Sir Halley Stewart ground on Saturday.
Harry Cranfield's second half equaliser earned the Knights a deserved draw against their fifth-placed visitors.
Myron Abodunde had given the Tangerines a first half advantage after an opening period where both sides had battled hard for supremacy.
Manager Lewis Thorogood said: "We had an energy and tempo about us in the first half and played good football.
"The criticism was that we didn't really lay a glove on their goalkeeper though. We never really tested him in the first half.
"We huffed and puffed but didn't do anything of note and their goal was the only real effort by both teams."
Pinchbeck showed more offensively after the break and started to ask questions of the well-organised Diss rearguard.
The visitors were being pushed further and further back with Pinchbeck looking the most likely side to score.
The equaliser arrived with 13 minutes remaining when Cranfield rose highest to head home from a cross.
Pinchbeck then went for the winner and came close to taking the three points after putting together the move of the match.
Krisztian Gagyi's pass found JJ Ward who threaded the ball through to Josh Doran who beat his marker before cutting inside only to see his sweet strike rattle the upright.
Ward then shot over after a cross took an awkward bobble off the surface and he was unable to keep his shot down as the honours ended even.
Thorogood added: "We probably deserved the three points on the balance of things but it was still a good point against a side which are firmly in the play-offs.
"I was happy with the point and really happy with how we played.
"We've now got to back it up in our next two games because, if we can put in the type of performance like we did on Saturday, then we stand a decent chance of getting something."
The draw leaves Pinchbeck in 10th spot ahead of Saturday's trip to Haverhill Borough.
