Joe Bamford tastes success in the 1300 Stock Cars at King’s Lynn

Predictions that Joe Bamford's recent form in the 1300 Stock Cars would soon see him win his first race in the formula were fulfilled on Saturday night.

Bamford produced a fantastic drive at King's Lynn in his heat to take the chequered flag by a decent quarter lap margin.

It was a great performance by Bamford who hit the front in the early stages of the race and showed the rest of the field a clear quartet of tyres as he was never headed.

Bamford also had a seventh place finish in the opening White and Yellows race.

Reece Crane was also in action in the 1300 Stock Cars but had a frustrating night where mechanical problems and bad luck combined to keep him out of the top places. Canterbury’s Jacob Bromley won the meeting final.

Ryan Knibbs was the area's sole representative in the Micro Banger UK Championship and he campaigned a very smart looking car.

Knibbs put on a great performance where he was heavily involved in the action but did not get any top results.

Shane Murkin was in action in the Junior Bangers for the first time in a few months.

It was always likely to take a few meetings for Murkin to get back to racing speed especially after starting back in the red grade and so it proved as he did not have any top 10 finishes but looked to have a great time back on track.
