Peterborough and District Football League round-up
It was a case of third time lucky for Deeping Rangers Reserves as they defeated Stamford Bels in the Peterborough League Premier Division on Saturday.
The Clarets had lost 3-2 in the first league meeting of the season between the two sides with Bels then winning the Lincolnshire Junior Cup clash last weekend.
However, Rangers reversed their fortunes on Saturday with a 6-3 win at the Haydon Whitham Stadium.
Matt Sparrow had scored Deeping's opening goal before being sent off but Deeping defied the dismissal with Luke Woodhouse and Kee Walker netting further goals before the break.
Will Moxon, Scott Waumsley and Dan Kettleborough were then on target in the second half with Bels replying with goals from Zac Treweek (two) and Tom Edwards.
The only other top flight game to beat the big freeze saw Crowland claim a 1-0 home win over Leverington with Harry Tidswell hitting the decisive strike.
Holbeach United Sports were 3-1 away winners in their Division One match at Glinton & Newborough with Max Howe hitting the Spartans' goal. Cameron Lee scored twice for the Tigers with Rob Shaw also on target.
Deeping United Reserves were edged out by a solitary strike against FC Hampton in Division Two while Deeping Rangers A took the spoils against Long Sutton Reserves in Division Three.
Adem Isenovic, Luca Di Canio and Henry Rook scored for the Clarets with Calvin Bird bagging a brace for the Magpies.
Whaplode Drove Reserves went down to a 4-1 home loss to Thorney with Ryan Ellwood scoring their goal.
Moulton Harrox Reserves lost their 100 per cent record in Division Four after being held to a 1-1 home draw by Sawtry's second string. Martin Sandall scored their goal.
Bourne-based Elsea Park Eagles were 6-2 home winners over Stamford Lions as Nick Martin netted twice for the victorious hosts.
Matthew Dale, Ryan Eldred, Ryan Johnston and Scott Cochrane scored their other goals with Evan Griffin and Jack Jones replying for Lions.
Moulton Harrox have been handed a home tie in the fourth round of the Lincs Junior Cup.
They will host Nottinghamshire Senior League Division Three side AFC Colsterworth on Saturday, December 16, in the last 16 tie at Broad Lane.
Crowland face a long trip to Crowle Colts while Wyberton entertain Grimsby Borough Reserves with their A team travelling to face Stamford Bels.
