Mark Farnham's Spalding School of Tae Kwon-Do competet at the TAGB British Championships




Mark Farnham's Spalding School of Tae Kwon-Do returned with their biggest ever medal haul from the TAGB British Championships.

The event was held at Worcester Arena and 17 fighting areas ran throughout the day with more than 1,100 competitors and 400 officials making it the biggest competition of the Tae Kwon-Do year.

Govindarajan Gopinath and Arjun Gopinath both struck gold after taking first places respectively in the men's black belt hand power and boys black belt hand power.

Arjun was also second in the boys black belt team sparring and took third place in the boys black belt foot power.

Sophie McFie secured third places in both the female black belt team sparring and female black belt power hand.

There were also third places for Roisin Williams (cadet female black belt team sparring), Erin Williams (girls black belt team sparring) and Isabel Bowser (female black belt team sparring).

Spalding and Holbeach club instructor Carl Grimes completed the third place hauls in the men's black belt sparring.

There were 39 students and 11 officials from the area's Mark Farnham schools attending the tournament with pattern, sparring, destruction, power pad, team sparring and team pattern events during the day.
