Black belt success for Mark Farnham Schools of Tae Kwon-Do
Spalding students have helped the Mark Farnham Schools of Tae Kwon-Do reach a black belt landmark.
The club now has 600 black belt passes following the recent grading at Daventry.
Mark has 16 schools throughout East Anglia with hundreds of students training every week.
Most of the schools have produced black belts over the years, including two seventh dan grades which is the world master standard.
Each year they have two black belt gradings where students travel to Daventry.
This is a very hard level to achieve as it takes at least three-and-a-half years of hard work and dedication to reach first dan black belt with the higher dans taking considerably longer.
All students perform in front of five ninth dan grand masters who have more then 45 years of tae kwon do experience.
The Spalding school saw Isabel Bowser and Erin Williams gain their first dan black belts while Carl Grimes - who also teaches at the Holbeach school - gained the coveted seventh dan world master accolade.
Grimes, along with Warren Vice, are the first in all 16 of Mark Farnham's schools ever to receive this extremely high grade in 36 years.
