South Lincs and Border League round-up




A fine bowling performance helped secure a second successive victory for Moulton Harrox in the South Lincs and Border League Championship on Saturday.

They defeated Woodhall Spa 2nds by eight wickets at Broad Lane after dismissing their visitors for 79.

Uddyan Hansana led the Harrox attack with 3-16 from six overs and was well supported by Matt Rose (2-9), Harry Lovell (2-22) and Curtis Todd 2-17.

Moulton needed less than 16 overs to pass their target as Josh Newton and Flynn McMillan both finished unbeaten on 20.

Long Sutton suffered a second consecutive defeat after an eight-wicket loss at Boston where they were bowled out for 115.

Skipper Ben Woodward was in superb form for Bourne 2nds as they defeated Sleaford 2nds by 166 runs at the Abbey Lawn.

Opener Woodward smashed 15 fours and three sixes in his 132 while Josh Bentley made 34 as Bourne were bowled out for 261.

They then dismissed Sleaford for 95 in reply as David Christmas claimed 5-30 while Woodward and Tom Patchett both picked up two wickets apiece.

Market Deeping 2nds were narrow winners by three runs in their home match with Ancaster in Division One.

Tom Anderson struck an unbeaten 74 after Ross Barnes had made 33 as Deeping closed their 45 overs on 171-8.

Sean McMullan then claimed 4-34 while Tom Berwick bagged 3-42 as Ancaster were dismissed for 168 in reply.

Long Sutton 2nds lost by 140 runs at Burghley Park after being bowled out for 133 in pursuit of their hosts' 273-7.

Daniel Plant picked up three wickets for Sutton while Steve Norris top-scored with 54 in their reply.

Moulton Harrox 2nds also suffered an away defeat after losing by 43 runs at Freiston.

Cameron Fox finished with 4-29 from nine overs as Freiston were bowled out for 176 but Moulton only made 133-9 in reply with Fox top-scoring with 35.

Spalding 2nds suffered a heavy home defeat against Billingborough 2nds in Group B of the Dave Morris Trophy.

An unbeaten 152 not out from Jonathan Payne helped Billingborough post 269-6 from their 45 overs after batting first.

Thomas Decamps collected a couple of wickets for Spalding who were dismissed for 72 in reply despite Jay White making 25 not out.

Aaron Bradshaw bagged 4-33 from nine overs for Billingborough.
