Round-up of the Peterborough Youth League and Junior Alliance cup clashes




Holbeach United Black booked their place in the semi-finals of the Peterborough Youth League Under 18 Cup after a fine away win on Sunday.

The Tigers defeated Bourne Town Red 5-3 to secure their spot in the last four of the competition.

Brad Appleby and Elliott Foster both struck twice for Holbeach with substitute Sam Miller also on target.

Nathan Bills, William Hawkins and Ethan Hunt netted for the Wakes while Holbeach will now face a Wisbech St Mary side in the last four who had topped their group.

The Tigers side will be playing in the Thurlow Nunn Floodlit Youth League next season and will be holding open trials in the first week of July for players who could get the opportunity to play in the FA Youth Cup.

Wisbech were 3-2 winners over Deeping United in Sunday's quarter-final clash with Archie Rickards scoring twice for the visitors.

Deeping Rangers are through to the final of the Under 16 tournament after a 3-2 home success over Nene Valley.

Kristian Gagyi scored twice for the Clarets with Sam Fielding also on target for Deeping who will face March Town Athletic in the final.

Spalding United Blue and Deeping Rangers both missed out on reaching the final of the Under 15 Cup after defeats in their semi-finals.

The Tulips were beaten 6-2 away at Hampton Royals with Ben Greenacre and Mariyan Asyov scoring the Spalding goals.

Rangers went down to a 7-2 reversal against Stamford Young Daniels Red with Harry Rippon and Charlie Brooks their marksmen.

There was disappointment for Thurlby Tigers and Bourne Town's youngsters in the finals of the Peterborough Junior Alliance competition at the weekend.

Thurlby were beaten 2-0 by ICA Sports in the final of the Under 12 Hereward Cup while there was a double defeat for the Wakes at Under 13 level.

The Claret side lost 4-0 to Werrington Athletic in the League Cup while the Red team were beaten by a solitary strike against Orton Rangers Blue in the Hereward Cup.
