The World of Shale Championship is being staged at King’s Lynn

Spalding's Charlie Tomblin will be looking to convert pole position into his second title triumph when BriSCA stock car racing takes place at King's Lynn for the last time this season on Saturday.

Both the F1 and F2 stock cars will be in action with the latter contesting one of their biggest titles of the season with the World of Shale Championship being staged.

More than 80 F2 stock cars are booked in for this event with 17 drivers in the entry making the trip from mainland Europe.

Tomblin won this race at Bradford back in 2022 and he will be a massive favourite to double up on titles on Saturday (5pm).

He is one of the quickest there is around Lynn but it still won't be an easy task with so many rapid drivers around him.

However, 'win it or bin it' is a phrase which could have been invented for Tomblin's style of racing and he won't be settling for second place in this one.

Such is the strength in depth of talent across the area in the BriSCA F2 scene, Tomblin is not the only local driver to have qualified for the big race with both Issitt brothers crowning a good season by qualifying for the championship.

Pat starts the big race on the outside of row seven with Jack on the inside of row 13.

Pat is always quick around King's Lynn and won the Dash for Cash at last October's meeting and also won the meeting final on world final night at Lynn back in 2022.

He will be confident of a good performance as will brother Jack who has performed well in both F1 and F2 stock cars at Lynn this year.

The top 20 drivers in the World of Shale points are seeded while those from 21-40 will be chasing six final spots on the grid through the last chance race.

Daniel Vaughan, Steve Wycherley and the father and son duo of Barry and Jason Clow will be looking to make it through.

F1 fans will also be looking for plenty to cheer for as Finn Sargent will be looking to transfer his recent run of good form on tarmac onto shale.

Sargent has picked up plenty of wins on the hard stuff and was also in good form the last time he raced at Lynn back in August when he was second in the world semi-final.
