Spalding Rugby Club Under 14s are victorious in the Nottingham, Lincolnshire and Derbyshire Vase competition

Spalding Under 14s have tasted victory in the NLD Vase competition.

They defeated West Bridgford 38-5 in the final which was held at Sleaford Rugby Club.

The young Elephants had been convincing winners in their semi-final clash with Ashfield and took the field for the final with some confidence.

They excelled themselves again with a stunning and dominant victory.

Try scorers were Finn Oliver (two), Justin Cormican (two), Daniel Christie and Issac Bowman while Eddie Roffe kicked four conversions.

Spalding are staging the Lincolnshire county cup finals at their Centenary Park ground on Sunday.

The action gets underway at noon with Grimsby facing Kesteven in the Intermediate Cup final.

Scunthorpe and Stamford then face each other at 2pm in the Lincolnshire Women's Cup.

The afternoon is rounded off by the Senior Cup final at 4pm with Scunthorpe 2nds facing either Bourne or Stamford who are due to meet tonight (Thursday) in their semi-final.
