Peterborough and District Football League round-up




A third successive win in all competitions moved Moulton Harrox to within a point of top spot in the Peterborough League Premier Division on Saturday.

They were 2-0 away winners at Ramsey Town after goals from Dec Earth and recent signing Tyler Wright.

The victory sees Moulton in third spot, a point behind league leaders Uppingham but with a game in hand.

Crowland Town were 4-3 winners over Wittering Premiair after a topsy-turvy tussle at Snowden Field.

The Harriers hit the front before Crowland equalised and then took the lead before half-time.

Both sides scored quick-fire goals early in the second half before Wittering equalised to make it 3-3 ahead of Crowland's winner with 16 minutes remaining. Danny Firth scored a hat-trick for Town with Harry Grigas grabbing their other goal.

Deeping Rangers Reserves were beaten 3-2 at Stamford Bels despite goals from Taylor Duthie and Snor Islam while Tydd's home match with Oakham United was postponed.

Holbeach Sports secured a 3-0 away win at Deeping United in Division One while Long Sutton were 2-1 victors at Park Farm Pumas thanks to goals from Calvin Bird and Jack Greenacre.

Whaplode Drove extended their lead at the top of Division Two after a 2-2 away at third-placed FC Hampton.

Ryan Ellwood and Josh Lawrence netted for Rovers who benefitted from second-placed Peterborough Rangers losing 4-2 at home to Sutton Bridge.

Ryan Brothwell bagged a brace for Bridge with Matt Eaton and Craig Pack also on target.

Tydd Reserves were 3-1 away winners at Deeping United's second string thanks to goals from Daniel Cassidy (two) and Kai Scott-Henson while Jay Handley hit the home side's goal.

Crowland Reserves were beaten 3-2 at King's Cliffe with Jamie Hunns and Xennon Paul their marksmen.

Bourne Town A continue to set the pace in Division Three after a 4-2 home success over fourth-placed Netherton A.

Dan Rayner scored twice for the Wakes with Alfie Woodward and Jack Durno netting their other goals.

Long Sutton Reserves lost 5-0 at home to AFC Malborne while Whaplode Drove Reserves lost 2-1 against Hampton United with Jordan O'Rouke scoring their goal.

Moulton Harrox Reserves made it nine wins out of nine in Division Four after a four-goal home success against Leverington A.

Emilio Mead struck twice with Cameron Bedden and Martin Sandall also scoring for the league leaders.

South Lincs Swifts were 4-1 home winners against Deeping United A.

Daniel Coleman, Dawid Gos, Nicky Haw and Lucas Turner-Grantham scored for Swifts with Lee Turner hitting the United goal.

Bourne's Elsea Park Eagles lost 4-2 at Stanground Sports Reserves despite goals from William Dale and Toby Eldred.

Pinchbeck United Development made progress in the Boston and District League's Sports Cup competition.

They defeated Old Leake 2-1 at Knight Street thanks to goals from Mark Garner and Sam Melson.

Holbeach Bank overturned a three-goal half-time deficit to book their place in the next round with a 7-4 success against Friskney after extra-time.

The two sides had finished level at 4-4 after 90 minutes with Bank bagging three goals in extra time.

Harry Ashby and Chesney Isaacs both scored twice with Charlie Caller, Braidon Coupland and Stefan Kutsarov their other marksmen.

The draw has been made for the semi-finals of the Inter-Services Cup.

Crowland Reserves or Tydd Reserves will host South Lincs Swifts while Long Sutton will visit either Holbeach Sports or Holbeach Bank.

Crowland's quarter-final clash is being played on Saturday, November 25, while the two Holbeach teams meet on January 6.

The semi-finals will be played on February 10 with the final on Saturday, April 13, at Holbeach United's Carter's Park ground.
