Stock car racing round-up from meeting at King's Lynn
Holbeach banger star Paul Vines was in sensational form in the all Bluebird Bangers at King’s Lynn last Saturday with a fantastic crowd-pleasing display.
Making only his second appearance in the last seven years it did not take long for Paul to find his stride.
In the first heat, he soon hit the front and was involved in a thrilling battle for the lead over the first six laps with experienced Crewe-based star John Wibberley.
However, Vines could not resist the urge to pull off a crowd-pleasing hit on Callum Gill when the opportunity was presented and picked up an entertainer award for his efforts as well as recovering to come home in ninth place.
Vines could consider himself unlucky in his second heat when he crashed out with two laps to go while lying in second place.
Lewis Ivatt was in great form in the Almera and Sunny class of bangers which were in action.
After receiving a material award for the unusual B12 Estate version of the Sunny he had sourced, he put it to great use with a trio of fourth place finishes in his races before putting on a great performance in the Destruction Derby which saw him pick up an entertainer award.
Reece Crane was in action in the 1300 Stock Cars where he had to overcome the handicap of B Grade Yellow Roof start after a recent promotion in the gradings.
He did well to get into the points still with a 10th place finish but was then out of the points with a 14th place finish in his second heat and he crashed out in the early stages of the meeting final and failed to finish.
Stock Car Racing takes centre stage at King’s Lynn this Saturday when the BriSCA F1 Stock Cars are in town along with the 2L Stock Cars and MiniStox.
A couple of family pairings will be in action with father and son double Mark and Finn Sargent in action in the F1 Stock Cars and brothers Rowan and Simon Venni racing in the 2L Stock Cars.
