Scott Williams is the winner of the second Tigers Open event




Former World Championship semi-finalist Scott Williams was the winners of the Tigers Open on Sunday.

Williams - who reached the last four of the PDC event in 2024 - defeated Finlay Clayton in the final of the monthly event at the Tigers Bar.

The world number 37 hit five 100s to defeat Clayton who compiled three tons and a 121.

Williams had earlier beaten Leo Clarkson and Ian Withers en-route to the final while Clayton got the better of Mark Waters and Jacob Slater in his last eight and semi-final ties.

The other quarter-finals had been Withers beat Dave Piccaver while Slater defeated Fin Mottram.

The tournament attracted 33 players with Dale Stevenson winning the plate competition after defeating Stuart Stephens in the final.

Stevenson had earlier accounted for Josh Faulkner and Simon Clare with Stephens seeing off the challenges of Harry Faulkner and Tiger Atkin.

The next competition will be held on Sunday, August 17, with youth and adults tournaments both taking place. Registration is noon for a 1pm start.

Holbeach and District Summer League

Division One: Anchor B 15 Tigers A 12, Tigers B 20 Tigers C 9.

Division Two: Greyhound 21 Parkside 9, Holbeach Services Club A 6 Anchor A 21, Rose & Crown B 6 Royal British Legion 24, Tigers K 13 Holbeach Services Club B 14.

Division A leaders Lincoln Arms A carried on their march towards the Dewhursts Trophies Pinchbeck and District Summer Darts League title with a 21-6 home win against their D team counterparts.

Tony Spinks was the sole winner for the D side after beating Dean Murray 2-1 in his singles game. Murray had a 107 checkout.

In the pairs, there were 18-dart legs for Sam Roberts and Murray along with John Charlton and Steve Stancer for the A team.

The fight for second place took a massive swing in the favour of Consti Club C after a 20-7 away win at rivals Services Club B.

In a game dominated by the Consti, Paul Faulkner had a 180, Jack Morton took out a 100 finish and Jacob Herd registered a 16-dart leg.

The only highlights for the Services were a 180 for Steve Rawding and a 114 finish for Tony Clark.

Green Dragon A secured a 19-8 home win against the Consti Club Z.

Rob Green and Paul Merrill were the only two winners for the Consti in their singles games.

Scott Williams hit a 180 and a 145 check-out and, with Chris Newman in the pairs, had an 18-dart leg.

Jon Goor also had a 180 for the Dragon.

In Division B, Consti Club B remain unbeaten at the top with a 19-8 away win at Kirton Leisure.

Craig Spiller and Mark Ledger were the only successes for the Leisure with singles wins over Matt Broderick and Adam Robinson respectively. Stu Ewins took out a 115 finish for the Consti.

Pied Calf and the Drayman's Arms are tied for second place.

Pied Calf came out 15-12 winners against bottom side Lincoln Arms C while the Drayman's beat the Green Dragon Z 19-8 at home.

Division C bottom side, Green Dragon C, got their first win of the season by overcoming the Consti Club A with a 15-12 away victory.

Trent Hutson secured the win by beating Kev Bailey 3-0 in the penultimate singles game. Chris Mumby had a 180 for the Consti.

Services Club A went one point clear at the top of the table with a 15-12 away win at the Consti Club D.

Carl Worth, Connor McKenzie and Steve Booden all won 3-0 in their singles for the Services.

In the Pinchbeck FC derby, it was the B team who came out 14-13 winners against the C team.

Although losing 2-1, Slim Elderkin got the all important leg in the last game against Jay Vernalls.

Harvey Elderkin hit his third maximum of the season for the B team to go top of the 180s leaderboard.
