Alive with the sound of music as Bourne Elsea Park CE Primary Academy pupils celebrate BBC Day of Music by taking part in the Get Singing project
Singing fever has taken over the children of Bourne Elsea Park CE Primary Academy as they have had several wonderful opportunities to make music.
They joined hundreds of other schools around the country in celebrating the BBC Day of Music by taking part in the Get Singing project.
The corridors were filled with the sound of ‘Happy’ by Pharrell Williams and a three part medley including a timely and rousing rendition of ‘Swing Low’ in support of England playing in the Rugby World Cup!
As well as enjoying the experience of singing with others they learned about the physical and mental benefits of making music together!
Our new burgeoning choir also shared their fabulous talents last month as they had been invited to perform to the Cardiac Rehabilitation Group at their annual harvest fundraising event at the Elsea Park Community Centre.
After putting a smile on the face of the audience by singing a medley of harvest songs followed by George Ezra’s Shotgun the choir took a few minutes to chat to them before heading back to school.
Miss Steph Davey, class teacher and choir co-ordiantor said: “This was another fabulous opportunity to enjoy performing whilst spreading the magic of making music together.
"Well done choir and thank you to the Cardiac Rehabilitation Group for inviting us to share their harvest event.”
