59 pupils isolating due to covid at Stamford Endowed Schools
A school is facing an outbreak of covid cases, days after pupils returned from their summer break.
As of yesterday (September 9), 59 pupils at the Stamford Endowed Schools are isolating due to coronavirus. The 59 individuals are those who have tested positive within the past ten days and are still in their isolation period, which therefore covers pupils who tested positive at the end of the holidays as well.
The year groups directly affected by this are Year 5, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13.
A spokesman for the Stamford Endowed Schools said: "We are in communication with Public Health England and have contingency plans that will be put in place if required.
"We continue to follow all Government advice.
"We are very grateful to all of our families who are being diligent in continuing with at-home testing, and helping to identify cases at the earliest possible stage."
A school in Rutland is facing its worst covid outbreak to date.
