Raffle will help Cardiac Risk in the Young as Rutland man Andrew Osborne continues to Row for Amy across the Atlantic

Afternoon tea at the Houses of Parliament and a glamping trip are among prizes boosting the fundraising of an Atlantic rower.

Andrew Osborne has rowed solo for 2,500 miles in 10 weeks and is only about 500 miles from completing his challenge to cross the Atlantic Ocean from the Canary Islands to Antigua.

He set off in early January and has spent 80 days alone at sea. He has faced numerous storms and has capsized twice.

So far, Andrew has raised more than £127,000 for Cardiac Risk in the Young (Cry).

He chose the charity after losing his daughter, Amy, six years ago to an undiagnosed heart condition. She was 25 when she died.

Money raised by sponsoring Andrew and buying raffle tickets will be used to test hundreds of children and young adults for heart conditions, starting with pupils in the Rutland and Leicestershire area.

As well as afternoon tea in the Commons, which was donated by Rutland MP Alica Kearns, prizes include artwork and furnishings worth hundreds of pounds, a tasting menu with wine package and overnight stay for two at a Michelin starred restaurant, and a luxury hamper.

The prize draw will close on Friday (March 24) and winners will be selected by a computer-generated random name picker.
