Duddington fundraiser donates £200 each to Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice in Peterborough, Naomi House Children's Hospice in Dorset and Katharine House Hospice Oxford from raffle inspired by Captain Sir Tom Moore's 100 challenge
Three charities have each received £200 after a raffle inspired by the late Captain Sir Tom Moore.
Inspired by the appeal by his daughters, the Captain Tom 100 asked fundraisers to do their bit centered around the number 100.
Audrey Kilsby from Duddington devised a raffle where she sold 100 tickets at £5 each with each ticket holder being entered into a draw for a surprise gift, most of which had been donated.
The gifts included wines, fizz, whisky, perfume, homemade preserves, notebooks, water pistol, frisbie, gift vouchers, and chocolates.
In no time the tickets were all sold and the draw took place in Duddington on May 7 with Audrey being assisted by local children who drew the tickets from a top hat!
The charities, who have already received their donations, are Sue Ryder Hospice Thorpe Hall, Peterborough; Naomi House Children’s Hospice, Dorset and Katharine House Hospice Oxford, all very dear to Audrey’s heart.
With cash donations added to the ticket sales each charity has received £200.
