Author Joanthan Wheatley, from Stamford, publishes his first novel, The Priory which is based on St Leonard's Priory
Stamford based writer, Jonathan Wheatley, will be publishing his first full-length novel.
The contemporary horror, The Priory, is a fiction novel based on real facts about the history of Stamford.
Part of the book is inspired by St Leonard's Priory, which for Jonathan was 'probably one of the most noticeable places in Stamford'.
Jonathan's book will be published by a small independent publisher in America.
It is expected to be released in summer next year and will be stocked in major retailers, and in Walkers in Oakham and Stamford
Jonathan, 34, said: "My dream has always been to be a published author so I feel proud."
Jonathan balances his full time job as a professional copywriter, writing, studying for a degree with the Open University and having two children.
He said: "It's hard work but my kids are my world, they make me want to push myself and be better."
Jonathan will also be starting work with Rutland Book Nook helping inspire children to read and have a passion for literature.
He said: "I want to inspire children to start reading."
