Santander in Stamford reopens after colleagues were relocated to cover for colleagues in Peterborough

A bank reopened this morning (Tuesday, November 23) after staff were drafted in to cover for colleagues at another branch.

Santander in Stamford has been closed since Wednesday last week while staff were relocated to Peterborough to cover for employees affected by covid.

The Stamford staff have now returned, but the branch in High Street is expected to operate on reduced hours until the weekend.

The High Street bank reopened today.
The High Street bank reopened today.

It will open from 9.30am until 1pm until Saturday (November 27).

A spokesman said: "We can confirm that due to cases of covid impacting colleagues at nearby branches, Stamford branch colleagues have been temporarily relocated to support at our Peterborough branch.

"The decision to move colleagues to support at a larger branch unfortunately meant that the Stamford branch has been closed since Wednesday, November 17 and we’re sorry for any inconvenience this has caused customers in the area."

Some staff are still working at other branches, so the opening hours will be kept under review.

It is hoped the Stamford branch will fully reopen between 9.30am and 4.30pm next week.

Any customers who need to visit a branch outside of these times can use Santander's online branch locator to find their nearest alternative branch, or use online or mobile banking, or the Post Office.
