Barnsdale Hall Hotel sold with a guide price of £10m

Barnsdale Hall Hotel in Rutland has been sold for in the region of £10m after 10 months on the market.

Property advisor Knight Frank completed the sale to Dineshbhai and Savitaben Patel on behalf of trustees.

The hall, which is now close to the shores of Rutland Water, was built in 1890 as the family hunting lodge of the 6th Earl Fitzwilliam.

The hall was later acquired by entrepreneur Derek Penman, chairman of the Penman Group.

It then underwent extensive long-term redevelopment and refurbishment work to become a 55-acre lakeside resort and today has 66 guest bedrooms, 31 timeshare lodges and 18 apartments, 11 function suites, four bars and restaurants, a swimming pool, squash and tennis courts, air-conditioned studio, gym and spa.
