BBC news reporter Ben Thompson to give online lecture for Stamford Endowed Schools series




A BBC news reporter is lined up to be the first guest speaker for a series of online lectures hosted by Stamford Endowed Schools.

Ben Thompson will focus on world politics during his talk next week ahead of the forthcoming US elections.

He is a well-known BBC reporter and presenter who has covered the business segments on BBC Breakfast and previously presented BBC World’s flagship daily programme Worklife.

Ben spent three years working as the BBC’s Middle East business correspondent, reporting from multiple countries including Iraq, Syria, Saudia Arabia and Lebanon.

After his time in the Middle East, Ben reported from New York and Washington, serving as the North America business correspondent in the run up to the last US elections.

The online lecture takes place on Zoom on Thursday, October 8 at 7pm.

It will be hosted be Stamford Endowed School's principal Will Phelan.
