BBC Young Choir of the Year finalist to perform in Stamford

One of the finalist choirs of the 2018 BBC Young Choir of the Year will perform in Stamford.

The St Anne's Gospel Choir from Enfield in North London is coming to the Stamford Methodist Church on July 14.

The BBC competition was held only recently and church officials said they were "particularly pleased" the choir were able to come so soon after their success.

"The choir have very generously agreed to give their time free and all proceeds will go to our church's projects which are currently the Nixon Memorial Hospital in Sierra Leone and the Dementia Support South Lincs," said an official.

"Some of the proceeds will also go towards the work for young people at 'the shack' in the recreation ground and other youth outreach work in Stamford."

Tickets are on sale at both the Arts Centre and the church.
