Bourne Wood car park busy as coronavirus restrictions are eased
The car park at Bourne Wood was busy today (Sunday, May 17) as coronavirus restrictions were eased.
The car park reopened on Wednesday according to Forestry England's website.
The trails have remained open to walkers and cyclists during the lockdown but after restrictions were eased, the car park reopened.
This resulted in more visitors than normal, including those with picnics.
Signs had been put up asking visitors to keep 2m apart, wherever possible.
As part of the restrictions being eased, people can now go out for limitless amounts of exercise.
Elsewhere garden centres have also reopened, as have golf courses. Meanwhile, the leader of Rutland County Council has asked visitors not to come to the county.
