Bridge players enjoy first cafe event as part of festival
Scheduled to coincide with Stamford Festival, 48 players took part in Stamford Bridge Club’s first cafe bridge day on Friday, July 6.
Six eateries in town agreed to host the day’s play.
Lunch was taken at the venues and the players moved between them as the competition progressed.
The event was won by Doreen Simpson and Frank Isack.
Stamford mayor, Max Sawyer, presented prizes to the winners at the Jolly Brewer.
Entry fees for the event were donated to charities of the mayor’s choice.
Special thanks from the bridge club to David Banks for masterminding the thoroughly enjoyable day.
