Burghley House, near Stamford, has announced the date in which the Garden of Surprises and the Sculpture Garden will reopen.

The private South Gardens will also open on March 29 until Sunday, April 11.

In a statement, Burghley House said: "We know how much you missed visiting the private South Gardens last year and we cannot wait to present to you our magnificent seasonal displays and spring bulbs give an injection of formality into ‘Capability’ Brown’s sweeping vistas.

"The South Gardens, designed by ‘Capability’ Brown from 1757 has wonderful views of the lake, Lion Bridge and the park beyond. Visitors can discover the ‘Capability’ Brown designed summer house overlooking the lake, the oak circle and enjoy swathes of spring snow drops and nodding daffodils in the gardens."

Entry to the South Gardens will be via the garden kiosks and morning and afternoon timed sessions will have limited capacities to "maintain visitor and staff safety".

Admission to the South Gardens is included with a house and gardens or gardens only ticket. You must also have a pre-booked a house and/or gardens time slot ticket in advance of your visit.

The South Gardens are open in support of the Evergreen Trust, a local charity which promotes healthy attitudes towards older people in the community. A percentage of our admission intake will be donated to the Evergreen Trust.
