Rutland business Smithers Purslow donates £40,000 to charities including Make a Wish UK and the Rainbow Trust
Seventeen charities have benefited from the fundraising efforts of a Rutland business.
Staff at Smithers Purslow in Glaston spent a year raising money to celebrate the company's 40th anniversary.
Their challenges included the Three Peaks Yacht Race Challenge, where a five-strong team sailed from Barmouth to Fort William with two stalwarts cycling and running to the summits of Snowden, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis.
The team have also enjoyed cake sales, golf days and an Oktoberfest event at Uppingham School.
Company director Stephen Fraser and Andrew Bussey presented the cheques during a celebration at The Falcon Hotel in Uppingham on Tuesday last week.
Mr Bussey said: “Forty years in business is a tremendous achievement and all our offices and teams have helped raise funds for a great mix of good causes."
The biggest recipients, the Rainbow Trust and Make a Wish UK, each received £16,000
Stamford-based charity the Evergreen Care Trust received £1,000 for its work with the elderly.
Staff members each chose a charity to receive £500.
