"Every trade had it rough but for hospitality it was a big thing to make sure people still came out and feel safe.

"Staff were working day and night doing additional things, such as extra cleaning to keep the customers safe."

David Hicks, marketing manager, said: "Our goal is to offer the very best customer experience, no matter where our customers shop – whether it be online or in one of our 14 stores.

"The Covid-19 period has seen exceptional demand for cycling and has presented real challenges to our teams to maintain the level of service our customers expect against the background of working from home.

"Not only have the customer care team managed the increased workload and challenges, but we’ve seen exceptional improvements in our response times to customers, resolution times for issues, and TrustPilot scores."

Rutland Cycling has a customer care manager, assistant manager, and four assistants who are on hand to deal with that side of the business as well as teams across its stores and in offices.

"The team has almost doubled in size over the last few years to respond not only to an increase in demand for our products, but also to ensure that we’re able to respond as quickly and efficiently to our customers needs as possible", said David.
