Tallington Lodge and Rose Lodge care home chefs shortlisted for British Care Awards
Talented care home chefs from Tallington and Market Deeping have been shortlisted for the regional finals of the GB Care Awards.
Liam Connor, from Tallington Lodge, and Chris Beeby, from Rose Lodge in Market Deeping, have been put through as finalists for the Care Home Chef award at the regional 2020 Great British Care Awards.
Both earned their nominations for hitting high standards and their creative approaches.
Liam has been the chef manager at Tallington Lodge since 2018, having also worked as a schoolteacher and youth worker.
"I love my job and I’m delighted and honoured to be selected as a finalist for this award," he said.
"I love to get to know the residents here at Tallington Lodge and enjoy chatting with them in the dining room and getting their feedback."7
Chris started work as chef manager in the Rose Lodge kitchen two years ago after many years in the catering industry.
"I am very excited to have been chosen as a finalist at the GB Care Awards.
"I love getting to know all the residents and preparing food that I know they’ll enjoy”.
The winners of the East Midlands Region Great British Care Awards will be announced in April at an awards ceremony in Nottingham.
Anwar Kajee, head of hospitality at Country Court, which runs both care home, said: “Chris and his team at Rose Lodge work hard to come up with creative and delicious menus for our residents.
"We are delighted that his hard work and commitment has been recognised with this nomination.
“Liam consistently provides our residents with nutritious food presented to an excellent standard. He is keen to take on board their feedback and keep them excited about coming to the dining room every day."
