Red House Nursing Home in Stamford wins two Lincolnshire Care care home awards
Nursing home staff have won accolades for good food and good management at the Lincolnshire Care Awards.
Lisa Herbert and Katie Greenslade picked up the trophy in the ‘nutrition’ category for the Red House Nursing Home in Emlyns Street, Stamford, while manager Gale Bull won the highly commended trophy in the leadership category.
Gale said: “When I heard The Red House’s name called out as a winner at the ceremony I couldn’t move. I was smiling so much!”
She added that she was even more surprised to have won a second award, but that it was down to the small size of the home and its team which helps ensure there is a very caring approach.
“Food is such an important part of people’s day as they get older and nutritious food is healing for them,” she
said.
“We want it to be food our residents look forward to and enjoy, so meals such as cottage pie - homely food that they recognise.”
