The Wishing Well Inn in Dyke hosts classic car event

Hundreds of classic car owners were drawn to a rally at a village pub in return for free pizza.

The first 'Classic Wheels at The Well' event at the Wishing Well Inn in Dyke has been labelled a success, by pub owner and car enthusiast Phillip Femminile.

The event, held on Wednesday last week (June 9), saw more than 45 classic cars parked in the pub's grounds.

Phillip, who co-owns the pub with his cousins Laura and Salvatore, said: "What always amazes me is the depth of car enthusiasts in the Bourne area because of BRM."

To entice people in, Phillip offered free pizza to anyone with a car which pre-dated 1985.

The food was served from Philip's 1978 French police riot van, which has been converted to include with a woodburning pizza oven.

He said: "150 people came - it was mad.

"I ended up being in the pizza truck all night."

Among the classic cars were vehicles dating back to the 1920s and an Aston Martin worth more than £2m.
