Lions Clubs of Stamford and The Deepings provide play equipment for Easton-on-the-Hill family

Two community groups joined forces to provide play equipment for a disabled child.

The Lions Clubs of Stamford and The Deepings purchased a playhouse for five-year-old Ezra Caulton to give him somewhere safe to play.

The five-year-old, from Easton-on-the-Hill, was born prematurely and has global development issues which means he cannot walk and talk like other children of his age.

His family are waiting for an MRI scan to confirm a possible diagnosis of cerebral palsy.

In February Ezra's parents Beverley and Andy launched a fundraising appeal to create a safe place for him to play in their garden.

They had started clearing the space but were forced to ask for help when Andy lost his job due to the pandemic.

As part of the project they thought a garden playhouse would be a wonderful addition, and the two Lions clubs were only too happy to help.

It is now in place for Ezra to enjoy with his brother Brogan, nine, and their friends.

Beverley said: “Ezra is an outgoing boy who accepts his disability with a smile. We know he will love playing in his playhouse.

"Andy and I would like to thank both the Lions’ Clubs for their kind support.”

A GoFundMe page which was set up at the start of the year raised more than £1,300 to support the family.
