Oakham Castle to stage volunteering fair

An event to match volunteers to local projects will be staged at Oakham Castle.

Organisations will showcase the benefits of helping the community like learning new skills and making new friends.

The fair is hosted by Rutland Community Wellbeing Service and takes place on Wednesday, June 5 from 10am until 1pm.

Spokesman Simon Mutsaars said: "In addition to helping others, volunteering can improve your wellbeing as well.

"Volunteers can gain valuable skills and experience, boost confidence and build connections with people and places.

The fair is a great opportunity to explore a range of opportunities."
