Oakham Town Council sets aside cash for community grants

Oakham Town Council has set aside £5,500 to hand out in community grants.

The money forms part of the council's 2019/20 budget which was approved at a meeting last week.

A grants committee will be set up to draw up guidelines on how the council should consider and approve applications from community groups.

Three organisations have already applied for funding next year.

The applications from the Citizens Advice Bureau, Oakham Town Partnership and Rutland Red Box Project will be discussed at the next meeting on January 30.
