The Mason's Arms in Bourne reopens with new landlords

A couple plans to give a pub which closed earlier this year a new lease of life.

The Mason's Arms in Bourne welcomed back customers on Monday (December 19) with new landlords Samantha Horner and Kristian Newman at the helm of the business.

Samantha said: “I grew up in Bourne so I know the town and The Mason's Arms well.

"It’s a lovely old pub and our aim is to reinstate it as a great quality local that the whole community can enjoy."

Samantha and Kristian, who are engaged, both have experience running pubs and will be bringing in a programme of events and activities as well as a wide range of drinks.

"We’ll be open throughout the festive season for drinks and socialising, including on Christmas Day and New Year's Eve.

"It feels fantastic to see the doors of The Mason's Arms open again. We’re looking forward to welcoming people back,” said Samantha.

The Mason's Arms closed in April this year after four months when the then-landlords handed back the keys to owner Star Pubs and Bars, part of the Heineken UK business. It had previously been shut for a year.

A spokesperson for Star Pubs and Bars added: “We’re delighted that The Mason's Arms is reopening in time for Christmas."
