Dyke Scarecrow Festival raises money for village hall

Organisers of a scarecrow festival were blown away by the creativity of those who took part.

Dyke Scarecrow Festival attracted 24 entries this year with designs ranging from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to a western ranch.

The winner was Tina Lovesey who made a Mother Nature scarecrow.

Chairman of the village hall committee, Robin Woodward, thanked all those who supported the event, including the scarecrow builders, those who donated raffle prizes and stallholders who took part in the accompanying craft fair.

He said: “The whole festival was terrific. The standard of entries was very high and the imagination was incredible.

“I'd like to thank everyone who supported the festival, especially Jenny Woodward who is chairperson of the events committee. It was a great community event.”
