Crossing in Uppingham makes life easier for patients

Residents and patients at the Uppingham Surgery, off Ayston Road, will now find access from the western side of the town easier following the installation of a traffic light controlled pedestrian crossing, just north of Firs Avenue.

Rutland County Council worked in partnership with colleagues from area traffic control at Leicester and service delivery partner Tarmac, to install the new crossing. Other improvements have seen changes to the layby at the bus stop just north of the road accessing the Uppingham Surgery.

Uppingham mayor Alec Crombie said: “This is a much needed improvement to Ayston Road for pedestrians since the transfer of Uppingham Surgery from the town centre to Uppingham Gate.”
