Richard Harris, who works in Oakham, Rutland, raises more than £3,000 that will be split between Prostate Cancer UK and The Matt Hampson Foundation on 827-mile bike ride from Roscoff in France to Hendaye on the Spanish border




A cyclist has raised more than £3,000 for charities close to his heart.

Podiatrist Richard Harris, who works at Instep in John Street, Oakham, cycled from Roscoff in France to Hendaye on the border with Spain.

Money raised will be split between Prostate Cancer UK in memory of his father and The Matt Hampson Foundation.

The 827-mile challenge took 10 days to complete.

Richard said: “There were a couple of times when it was 33 degrees and water was running out and I could have quit, but the backing from everyone gave me the determination to carry on.”
