Matthew Morris, project officer from University of Leicester Archaeological Services, discusses the latest archaeological evidence for post-Roman settlement at Leicester; from castles and abbeys to lost parish churches and coaching inns. This is followed by At Court with the Tudors, a day of craft activities including ‘King on a thing’, decorating a crown and making a gable hood to wear. The Royal Courtiers (Regal Rose Historical Portrayal) will be present from 11am to 3pm, so there will be plenty of opportunities to pose for photos with Tudor royalty! Stamford Ramblers Walk - A nine mile walk starting at 10am from Morrison’s car park, Stamford. The route follows the river to Uffington, across the fields to Barnack, then along the edge of “Hills and Hollows”, returning along the Hereward Way past the Walcott estate and through Burghley Park back to Stamford.
