Stamford Fairtrade Town group raises money at New College Stamford and Stamford Railway Station

A charity 'Dine with a Difference' night to promote Fairtrade Fortnight saw delicious meals created by New College Stamford catering students.

The evening at the college's Gallery Restaurant was arranged by Stamford’s Fairtrade Town group.

The meals people attending the event were served used Fairtrade and local produce.

During Fairtrade Fortnight the Fairtrade Town group also served Fairtrade coffees and teas each morning at the railway station for donations, generating £180.

Their activities raised a total of more than £1,200 which has been split between Safer Off The Streets, a Peterborough charity which helps rough sleepers, and The Fairtrade Foundation.
