Stamford spooky tours offer a chance to uncover the darker side of the town
A new season of guided tours gets under way next week, offering a chance to discover the darker side of Stamford.
The mayor's guides are back with their popular spooky tours in the lead up to Halloween.
This promises to be a town tour like no other.
Taking place after dark, it offers a new perspective on some of the town's attractions and lifts the lid on some of its less savoury characters.
Tours will be led by Nicola Sandall, disguised as ghost Cassandra King from 1704, with tales of murder, intrigue, the plague and a spirit or two.
The 60-minute tours start from Stamford Town Hall in St Mary's Hill. They are running on Thursdays, October 21 and 28 and Saturdays, October 23 and 30.
Each date will have a child-friendly tour starting at 5.30pm suitable for under 12s followed by a later session at 7pm.
On Saturdays there will also be tours starting at 9pm.
And for anyone feeling particularly brave, there will be two tours on Halloween itself (Sunday, October 31) starting at 7pm and 9pm.
Tickets cost £7.50 or £5 for children and are available to purchase online at: www.ticketsource.co.uk/stamfordguidedtours
