Deeping St Nicholas Primary School receives breakfast money

A community group has played a part in giving schoolchildren the best start to the day.

Deepings Lions Club donated £250 to Deeping St Nicholas Primary School to help provide a good healthy breakfast.

The gesture was inspired by a charity called Magic Breakfast, which supports disadvantaged children across the whole country.

The charity recognises the importance of children eating a good breakfast to help them concentrate on their school work throughout the day.

Lions club members Nicki Waldie and Lynne Roberts visited Deeping St Nicholas Primary School to deliver a cheque during an assembly.

Nicki said: “When I approached the school, the staff told me they fully understood the importance of pupils having a good breakfast and really appreciated the offer.

"We were just so pleased that we were able to make a contribution.”
