Developer Lovell Homes donates high-visibility tags to pupils at St Nicholas Primary School in Cottesmore

Schoolchildren have been given high-visibility tags for their bags to help keep them safe on the streets.

Pupils at St Nicholas Primary School in Cottesmore received the donation from developer Lovell Homes.

The company is currently building in Greetham and wanted to do something to help people living in the surrounding area.

It is hoped the high-visibility tags will keep the youngsters safe on their journeys to and from school.

Headteacher Sarah Lyons said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to Lovell Homes who provided our whole school team with glow in the dark tags for rucksacks and school bags.

“This was such a considerate gesture and perfect timing for the short, dark, winter nights we are currently experiencing.

“Our school learning focus this term is ‘being responsible’ and we can all play our own small part now by ensuring we are safe walking to and from school wearing our new fluorescent tags.

Thank you Lovell for thinking of us.”

Lovell Homes’ regional sales manager, Toni Boden, said: “We are delighted to have been able to help St Nicholas Primary School and the pupils throughout the winter.

“We want to urge pupils to stay safe all throughout the year and hope that these tags are used as much as possible to help improve children’s visibility to motorists.”

Lovell Homes is working on a development of 24 new homes off Oakham Road in Greetham.
