Driver trapped after collision with barrier on A606 near Stamford

Emergency services freed a trapped driver after their car crashed into a barrier.

The accident happened on the A606 Empingham Road just outside Stamford at about 6.20pm yesterday (Wednesday).

Police, fire and ambulance were called to the scene alongside first responders from the East Midlands Immediate Care Scheme, or Emics, and RAF Wittering.

A statement on the Emics Facebook page said: “This early evening Emics volunteer Dr Tim Gray responded to an RTC near Stamford on the A606 Empingham Road. He responded with Emas (East Midlands Ambulance Service) and the fantastic RAF Wittering Co Responders.

“Trapped patient treated at scene. Great work all.”

The accident caused traffic delays in and around Stamford for about two hours.
