Brawl in Broad Street, Stamford captured on video by staff at Zorba
A video posted on social media shows a fight which broke out in the early hours of yesterday morning (August 16).
The brawl took place in Broad Street, Stamford and was recorded by a staff member from the takeaway restaurant Zorba.
In the video - which has been cut for the Rutland and Stamford Mercury website - a woman is heard to shout at a staff member using explicit and racist language.
Police attended the incident in Broad Street at about 1.30am.
Thugs also smashed up people's flower pots in the town centre.
Kaya Cihan, manager at Zorba, said: "I heard lots of shouting so I walked out and I saw lots of people attacking these guys, they were bleeding.
"I got my camera out. When people are in the wrong and you get you camera they know what's happening.
"They walked up to me, tried to attack me and tried to grab the phone.
"They walked towards the meadows so we followed them so they didn't make any more trouble."
He added: "Everyone does their bit to make the town beautiful with plants in the streets, the last thing we want is plants smashed. I don't get what enjoyment they get."
Kaya said that he believes the group came from Peterborough.
"The video, I think, is the best thing I could've done," he said.
He added that this sort of behaviour doesn't normally happen and that he hopes those responsible get caught.
The video of the Broad Street brawl has been sent to the police.
