£2 bus price cap extended to end of 2024 for Lincolnshire passengers
Bus passengers have been given a boost with the news that the price cap has been extended until the end of next year.
The ‘Get Around For £2’ campaign, backed with Government funding, aims to help people get around during the cost of living crisis.
It had been due to finish at the end of the Christmas season but has now been extended until the end of 2024 for operators signed up to the scheme.
It means that for a single fare, passengers won’t pay more than £2.
Bus operators taking part in Lincolnshire are:
• Callconnect: www.lincsbus.info/callconnect
• Brylaine: www.brylaine.co.uk
• Centrebus: www.centrebus.info
• PC Coaches: www.pccoaches.co.uk
• Stagecoach: www.stagecoachbus.com
• Vectare: www.vectare.co.uk
Bourne-based firm Delaine is not taking part.
Lincolnshire County Council’s executive member for transport Richard Davies (Con) said: “This is terrific news for everyone, and I really hope it encourages more people back onto the bus services around our county.
“£2 for every single fare with those bus providers who have signed up to the price cap is a great scheme to have in place until the end of 2024 and sits alongside our own CallConnect fare cap that we have had in place for some time now which has been very well received.”
