People are gifted advent calendars at Morrisons lunch club run in partnership with Evergreen Care Trust
People attending a weekly Morrisons lunch club today (Tuesday, November 19) were gifted a free chocolate advent calendar.
Marie has been working with a range of charities, including the Evergreen Care Trust, to find people who would benefit from receiving an advent calendar.
The Morrisons lunch club runs every Tuesday with the help of Evergreen Care Trust and can often have up to 24 people in attendance.
Jean Askew, 79, who has been attending the lunch club since it began, said: "The staff are as lovely as ever.
"Without the volunteers we wouldn't be having it.
"It gets us all out and is something we look forward to."
On December 3, members of the lunch club will be given drinks and mince pies and on December 17 they will be having a Christmas lunch.
Margaret Risk, a volunteer at the Evergreen Care Trust, said: "I think its great, we all enjoy this sort of thing."
"For some of them it's the only chance to sit down, chat and relax."
Sue West, a community champion at Morrison's, said: "We enjoy it, it's nice we've got to know all the people who come."
