Glinton Horticultural Society entrants excel themselves as show makes triumphant return after Covid-19

Entrants excelled themselves as the Glinton Horticultural Society show made a triumphant return.

Entries were slightly down on pre-covid levels but the quality was better than ever, according to organisers.

The Glinton Horticultural Society has been running shows since 1943, and entries are open to anyone who wants to show their talents to a wider audience.

Among the entries were big, bold and beautiful chrysanthemums, dahlias and begonias, a wonderful selection garden flowers – both in pots and cut flowers – and floral displays. The Top Tray and Top Vase classes, sponsored by The Barn at Cherry Lane, attracted splendid entries.

The entries in the baking, preserves and beverage classes looked mouth-watering.

The vegetables and fruit displays were also remarkable, while the artwork, cross stitch, jewellery and poetry caught a the eye.

The photography section has 12 classes for adults and six for children and was, as usual, well supported.

Children also had a wide range of classes to enter – in four age groups. These classes were sponsored by The Barn at Cherry Lane with generous prizes for each age group.
