Rutland escape room One Way Out in Oakham is line for titles at the Bullseye Awards
A former teacher who launched an escape room business after playing her first ever game is in the running for an international award.
Tessa Angell opened One Way Out Escape Rooms in Oakham in 2019 and now offers three full-time games, three seasonal games and two portable games.
Players are given 70 minutes to solve a series of clues to 'escape' the game room.
Tessa has been short-listed for the 'employee of the year' title in the Bullseye Awards which is hosted by an American website, Escape The Roomers.
Tessa is one of only two Brits to make the short-list, with other entrants coming from America, Cyprus, Canada and The Netherlands.
Tessa’s colleague, Ellie Dickinson, is also short-listed for the 'game master of the year' title.
She is on hand to offer clues to players during their games when a little extra help is needed.
Supporters can vote for Tessa and Ellie by viewing their entry videos on YouTube and clicking ‘like’.
Any comments made on the videos will count as an additional vote, with supporters able to make a new comment each day.
Voting closes on Friday, December 30 with the winner announced on January 28.
