More than 20 businesses will appear at the event selling jewellery, cards, homewares, artwork, lampshades, babywear, flowers, Russian dolls and bags.

Team member Rachel Parkin said: “We’re very excited to be hosting the first Etsy Made Local fair. It’s a showcase of some of the best of Rutland and Stamford’s creative community and the ideal opportunity to conquer Christmas shopping.

“All the items on sale will have been made by the people standing in front of you. It’s a great way to get individual items that you won’t find anywhere else.”

Etsy is an online sales platform for small businesses but also connects traders so they can support each other.

The Stamford team has been running for six months.

Rachel added: “Supporting these businesses is good for the local economy.”

The fair takes place at Stamford Arts Centre on Saturday, December 15 from 10am until 5pm.

Admission is free.
