Event helps Katie say thanks to customers

An illustrator had the chance to thank local customers who had supported her during 2018 at a Christmas shopping event.

Katie Cardew held a Christmas open studio event at her studio in King’s Cliffe on Friday (November 23) and Saturday (November 24) and she and her team were overwhelmed with how both events went.

And then on Sunday, the team, also had a stand at Stamford’s Christmas Market.

All the events gave Katie a chance to show off some new products, including notebooks, a Stamford and a Rutland mug and new prints, including one of The George Hotel of Stamford and an Under the Sea print.

It was so busy that the Stamford mug sold out although Katie promised more would be available on her website before Christmas.

She said: “The open studios event was absolutely amazing and it was especially great to see so many people there considering they had to travel out to see us in King’s Cliffe.

“Everyone had a glass of fizz and managed to pick up a few Christmas bits.”

As well as the weekend’s events, Katie is also planning to have stalls at fairs at Stamford Endowed Schools and Copthill School.

Katie, who won Small Business of the Year at the Mercury Business Awards in September, said: “It’s nice to do local events for all our customers who have supported us from the
start.”
